Delta Airlines, one of the leaders in the flight industry, has come up with a plethora of ways to not only keep their passengers safe, but to provide as comfortable and easy a trip as possible. - Delta Vacations has decided to only sell international hotels that offer in-hotel COVID testing.
- Delta has proactively issued a travel waiver for customers re-booking international tickets purchased on or before January 12th.
- The company remains strong in its stance for safety and the continuation of the travel industry in upcoming months. In a message from Delta CEO Ed Bastian, he says “We’re hopeful for an inflection point in the spring where the virus will be more contained, leading to the reopening of international borders and increased confidence in public life.”
- Delta is extending their policy of blocking off the middle seat in all of their flights through April 30, and possibly longer, to give you peace of mind when booking spring travel.
- Dr. Henry Ting, world-renowned cardiologist and current Chief Value Officer for the Mayo Clinic, will join Delta as their first Chief Health Officer this month. He has been instrumental in putting proper sanitation policies into place.
- Their mask requirement has been in place since last April, requiring you and their employees to wear them at every Delta touchpoint.
- You’ll find clean ambassadors at airports across the country overseeing a quality assurance program developed with input from Mayo Clinic, Emory and Lysol. They regularly spot-check the highest-touch surfaces in the airport and on board to ensure you encounter clean surfaces that meet the highest cleaning standards.
- Testing resources, while they are growing, can still be difficult to find. Delta is deploying in-home testing solutions to bring easy testing options to you.
- All customers can easily cancel, make changes or rebook on ‘My Trips’ any time before your travel date without a change fee for tickets purchased through March 30. And flexibility is here for the long haul – this applies to all Delta tickets from North America to anywhere worldwide purchased from March 31 onward, excluding Basic Economy.
- Some of the little things you love about flying are starting to come back. CEO Ed Bastian stated, “While we’re still a long way from normal, you will start to see us bring back some of the things you’ve missed over the next few months, like onboard food and beverage offerings.”
- In an effort to continue improving your flight experience amidst the safety protocol changes, Delta is introducing Viasat, their new high-speed Wi-Fi partner. With this change, you will start to see their vision for a revolutionized connectivity experience come to life, getting one step closer to Delta’s goal of providing free Wi-Fi on all flights in the future.
- In the same spirit, There are also more than 300 new pieces of content on Delta Studio, their free in-flight entertainment.
