Delta Vacations Only Books with Hotels that Provide On-Site COVID Testing
Delta Vacations has decided to make things easiest for you by only booking with hotels that provide on-site testing for COVID-19.
In response to the CDC COVID-19 testing requirements for international air travelers ages 2 years and older traveling to or connecting through the United States, more than 400 hotels in Mexico, Caribbean and Costa Rica now offer the convenience of onsite testing. About 250 hotels offer free COVID-19 tests and 150 hotels charge a fee paid by guests. This makes it easy and convenient for travelers to comply with CDC testing requirements without major interruptions to their precious vacation time. When booking a Delta Vacations trip through us at travelsbydonna@knology.net, you can be sure that you are staying at one of these hotels.
Here are some important notes for your consideration:
- No COVID-19 test required for U.S. travelers returning from Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- If someone in the booking tests positive for COVID-19, the travelers are required to self-isolate before returning to the U.S. Delta says to expect this will be 7-10 days based on current CDC guidance. Please note that Delta’s Health Acknowledgment (completed at check-in) requires customers to certify that they have not been exposed to, diagnosed with or tested positive for COVID within the past 14 days.
- Why is Delta Vacations doing this? There is a two-fold benefit—safety and customer experience. It will allow for a more streamlined booking experience and a more positive in-destination experience, as you will not have to worry about leaving the hotel property for testing. Essentially, Delta (and us!) believes vacations should feel like vacation.
